James built his 30+ year career in the construction industry from the ground up. He helped his dad build logging roads and clearing rights-of-way during high school, got into commercial and residential construction after graduation, and worked his way up through field positions as a laborer, pipe layer, track hoe operator, foreman and superintendent for pipework and earthwork. He embarked on company ownership more than 20 years ago, leading field operations for his first company and currently holding stakes in multiple ventures, including an executive management role at C&W.

James is an expert in excavation, underground utilities and shoring. He has performed and overseen numerous deep excavations for structural and utilities applications, and is also adept in large-bore pipe installations, including concrete, PVC, DIP and welded steel. His earthwork experience includes roads, building pads, parking lots, water reservoirs, streams, and wetlands. James’ project experience spans excavation, grading, and pipe utilities for commercial and industrial environments, including schools, commercial developments, tilt-up warehouses, high-tech and industrial manufacturing facilities, and data centers.

Matt brings a lifetime ofexperience in the civil construction industry, from his early years workingwith his grandfather’s excavation company to supporting high-tech sector design-build projects and deep excavation at the state capitol and downtown city centers. Matt has a passion for helping project teams deliver safe,constructable, and value-based excavation. He works collaboratively with project managers, superintendents, engineers and facility owners and operatorsto address multiple layers of project concerns and complexities. His industry knowledge, field expertise, and bottom-line managerial skills allow him to solve problems that keep projects out of trouble and seek solutions that create positive project experiences. With a personable demeanor and a no-nonsense approach, Matt provides an invaluable resource for his clients and their projects.

Ryan is an accomplished field professional with an attention to detail that forms the foundation of his success in leading, sequencing, and executing dozens of unique and complexprojects in a variety of environments. With experience as a general contractor as well as a specialist in earthwork and utilities, Ryan approaches projects with flexibility, a broad perspective, an understanding of the other trades,and a teamwork mentality. His positive, can-do attitude inspires teams tocreatively seek solutions, and he plans ahead to make sure they have the capacity, information, equipment, and tools to be successful on projects.  Ryan will oversee earthwork field manpower, making sure our team is meeting schedule, leading issue resolutions, and ensuring adherence to all safety requirements.
